Manager of Entrepreneurship Programs
LEANLAB Education is seeking a full-time Manager, Entrepreneurship Programs to recruit and retain forward thinking edtech ventures to participate in LEANLAB’s Pilot Research program. This manager-level position manages projects of up to $50k.
Managers implement program designs and make modifications and may have one direct report. In addition to achieving/exceeding role-based outcomes as defined in individual professional development plans and contributing to organization-wide goals, Managers are accountable for the following key responsibilities:
VENTURE RECRUITMENT AND SALES (60%)
- Curate and cultivate a world-class network and pipeline of K12 education entrepreneurs;
- Build and maintain a LEANLAB K-12 education entrepreneur customer profile, aligned to LEANLAB values, program offerings and school needs.
- Implement a system and structure to evaluate entrepreneurs aligned to the needs of school partners.
- PROSPECT AND IDENTIFY NEW EMERGING EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES ALIGNED TO THE IDEAL TARGET PROFILE.
- Negotiate entrepreneur contracts.
- Manage the recruitment, selection, matriculation, and contract negotiation process with ventures: including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and executing due diligence.
- Travel to relevant conferences and events to recruit and convene K-12 education entrepreneurs.
- Design and host events, both virtual and in person, to engage and attract world-class K-12 education entrepreneurs.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create collaterals and identify marketing opportunities to promote LEANLAB education products and services to K-12 entrepreneurs.
- Identify and systematize opportunities to support minority and underrepresented education entrepreneurs.
- Establish partnerships with national education innovation organizations, other entrepreneur support programs, and education technology/social impact and relevant venture capital firms to successfully yield increased deal flow of entrepreneurs and interested investors.
- Monitor and measure venture growth and progress attributable to LEANLAB connections or programming
- Consistently hit and exceed recruitment and sales targets.
PILOT SCHOOL COLLABORATION (15%)
- Act as on-demand support for K-12 entrepreneurs as they navigate the scale/spread process, gaining them access to coaches, mentors or resources.
- Support the scale of promising evidence-backed solutions across partner school communities and beyond.
CUSTOMER DISCOVERY (15%)
- Collaborate with the broader program team in the design process for new programs, product offerings, events and workshops.
- Create and support an education technology and service credentialing system.
- Develop a pricing menu of fees for service efforts.
- Conduct and maintain a landscape/competitive analysis in partnership with the LEANLAB communications team.
- Conduct willingness to pay research through field experiments, surveys, and one-on-one interviews with entrepreneurs to determine pricing strategies.
- Analyze learnings from LEANLAB contract procurement study about how products get into market across local public schools and develop a tool or ”playbook” for entrepreneurs who can use this research to create effective growth and sales strategies.
- Design a “Scale Up” program and series of processes aligned to “playbook” findings that streamline the adoption of evidenced-based education innovations.
ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT (10%)
- Conduct a yearly assessment of alumni metrics and create an alumni report
- Coordinate all post-program support for participating companies.
- Be the lead point of contact for all LEANLAB Alumni.
- Create a comprehensive strategy to evaluate and re-engage K12 Fellowship alumni.
This is an exempt position with full benefits; salary is commensurate with experience.
