Manager of Instructional Technology
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology Services, the Manager of Instructional Technology is responsible for providing leadership in the implementation and integration of technology to enhance the Academy’s teaching and learning.
Primary duties include, provide leadership in the investigation and development of pedagogical uses for technology; collaborate with faculty to ensure the responsible and successful integration of technology into the curriculum; recommend the hardware, software, and support requirements for faculty learning, curriculum development and research; coordinate the selection, installation, and support of classroom audio/visual technologies; develop standards for, and manage the procurement of, student and faculty laptops and iPads; administer and support the Academy’s Learning Management System and promote its use; create and deliver training programs for faculty, and contribute to a library of online and printed resources; consult with faculty on integrating multi-media into courses; provide support and training to faculty in the effective use of specialized software and hardware used to enrich teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and specifications: Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred, plus a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience coordinating support for technology in an academic environment; classroom teaching experience and a track record of collaboration with faculty are preferred; strong customer service orientation; strong knowledge of technologies used to support teaching and learning, including curriculum and learning management systems; demonstrated project management skills; ability to manage highly confidential information; outstanding written and oral communication skills; the ability to be self-directed, resourceful and creative; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; interest in the promotion of cooperation and teamwork; willingness and ability to learn additional technologies; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community; experience with Canvas and Canvas Studio, GSuites, Jamf, macOS, iOS, and tvOS is highly desirable.
