Media & Communications Technology Teacher
1 Year Contract
Grades 7 to 12

Specific Accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in teaching media arts and communications technology in a variety of software platforms
- A proven and relevant academic background
- A proven ability to have a caring rapport with students, Grades 7 to 12
- Strong communication skills
- An enthusiastic and productive work ethic
- Experience in running team based and group activities with students
- Confidence in assessment and evaluation linked to Growing Success criteria
- Project based learning and project management strategies for students
Additional Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education at the University level
- Teacher education training (B.Ed., M.Ed.) or significant teaching experience in another setting (i.e. University, College, or areas of specialized instruction)
- Knowledge of the TGJ4M Communications Technology and ASM3M Media Arts Ontario Ministry Curriculum
- In depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, InDesign and Premiere
- In depth knowledge of film editing and production. i.e. Final Cut Pro X, use of Digital SLR cameras and workflow, sound capture and editing, lighting
- Knowledge of research methodology strategies an asset
- Understanding of the media or communications technology field and careers an asset
- Experience in portfolio advising for students interested in post-secondary pursuits an asset.
- Ontario College of Teachers (or equivalent) an asset
