Middle and Upper School Learning and Technology Coordinator
Reporting to the Director of Information Services, the Middle/Upper School Learning & Technology Coordinator works closely with the administrative teams to provide leadership for the effective and meaningful integration of technology across the curriculum. A member of the Information Services team and the Tregaron Administrative Council (TAC), the Learning & Technology Coordinator ensures that digital tools and resources are integrated in a fashion that reflects the school’s mission and instructional objectives.
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
The Middle and Upper School Learning and Technology Coordinator will:
Collaborate with Middle School and Upper School administrations, as well as the Primary School Learning & Technology Coordinator, to support the integration of the WIS Standards for the Connected Learner across the Middle and Upper School curriculum in order to sustain a Pre-K to 12 continuum.
Participate in active communication with information services team members to identify issues of concern among faculty, staff, students and parents and collaborate to arrive at common solutions that will address these issues.
Work collaboratively with team members to develop shared sense of responsibility, collaboration, and support.
Collaborate with Help Desk Coordinator in conducting Level I troubleshooting, where appropriate.
Collaborate and coordinate with MS/US Teacher-Librarians, Media Coordinator, and Director of Information Services to offer varied and relevant professional development opportunities, such as but not limited to facilitating a learning group.
Develop training and support materials for use of technology resources; take a lead role in coordinating, disseminating, and using these resources in professional development with faculty members.
Collaborate with MS-US Librarians to ensure that use of Project Studios and library resources is coordinated and effectively utilized for standards-based integration of technology.
Manage reservation and use of all instructional technology spaces, including computer labs, mobile carts, and Dacha.
Ensure that use of technology ‘spaces’ is supervised and effectively supported when being used for academic instruction.
Advise Director of Information Services on acquisition of software, hardware, and other digital resources for implementation in curriculum.
Promote ethical use of information and technology through respect for intellectual property and adhering to appropriate laws.
Research and explore instructional resources for implementation in the Middle and Upper school curriculum
Provides frequent feedback to middle and upper school faculty members about the use of instructional technology in their curriculum
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Technology.
Strong overall technology skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong troubleshooting skills
Experience in working with iPads in an educational setting
Strong knowledge of current social media platforms and can speak to the tenants of digital citizenship.
Preferred qualifications:
Ability to communicate to others in non-technical language
Well-developed interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of Blackbaud On products Credentials and Experience
Previous experience as a technology coach/integrator.
Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer
Strong knowledge of extending Google Apps with Add-ons such as Doctopus
Strong knowledge of Office 365
Experience in editing video and developing screencasts.
