Middle and Upper School STEM Faculty

Maui Preparatory Academy is seeking qualified applicants to fulfill a growing need in our Upper School Science and Math Departments. In preparation for the 2016/17 school year, Maui Prep will be adding science and math faculty positions to address an increase in student population. Candidates qualified to teach a wide variety of math and science classes may be preferred. Possible science classes include Chemistry, Biology, Integrated Science, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, Marine Science, Astronomy, Robotics and Engineering. Possible math classes include 6th Grade Math, Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus/Trigonometry, Statistics, and AP Calculus. The ideal candidates will deliver a practical, hands-on approach to their classes, will leverage west Maui’s natural resources and incorporate an “outdoor classroom” philosophy into appropriate portions of the curriculum. Teachers who are well-versed in coaching students to incorporate and develop higher order thinking skills are highly preferred. “Sages on stages” need not apply. Individuals with a related master’s or doctorate degree are preferred.
