Middle School Computer Science and Engineering Teacher
Browning is looking for a Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year. The position is expected to begin orientation on August 15, 2022 (tentative date).
Key Responsibilities
Teachers are responsible for building strong relationships with students and delivering the content and curriculum of the Browning program. Successful teachers believe in and desire the growth of all their students and have a passion for their subject matter and for the art, craft, and science of pedagogy. Ultimately, teachers are responsible for the most important work of our School -- knowing our boys and teaching them well. Among other things, they are tasked with:
- Teaching CSE courses in grades 5 to 9
- Collaborating with teachers to explore innovative teaching methods and refine curriculum
- Supporting teachers with educational technology and the use of Canvas
- Developing and implementing an inspiring curriculum in conjunction with department members
- Creating strong relationships with students built on Browning’s core values of honesty, dignity, curiosity, and purpose
- Collaborating as a professional, collegial, and inspirational member of the department
- Participating in professional development to grow the self, department, and school
- Communicating with families about curricular and student matters
- Advising a group of students in the Middle School
- Heartily contributing to the school community
