Middle School Technology Coordinator
Sewickley Academy (located about 12 miles outside Pittsburgh) is seeking candidates to serve as our Middle School Technology Coordinator. The Middle School Technology Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting Middle School faculty in integrating technology into the educational program, especially as the school launches a one-to-one, bring-your-own-device program for students in the fall of 2015. This is a full-time, faculty position that includes teaching two digital arts courses and contributing to the PK-12 Technology Department.
Responsibilities include:
Instruction:
* Teach digital arts and computer science classes in the Middle School
* Coach the FLL Robotics Team
* Design and deliver technology skills instruction to Middle School students
* Design and deliver technology support and training to Middle School faculty
* Educate the Middle School community, including parents, on best practices of digital citizenship
Curricular Coordination:
* Inspire and support faculty to integrate technology into the curriculum following the SAMR model
* Select, promote, and model technology use that encourages and supports core 21st Century academic skills
* Collaborate with the Lower and Senior School Technology Coordinators on curriculum mapping according to Understanding by Design principles
* Keep current with the latest technology trends, including digital citizenship, programming languages, and tool and app development
* Promote the legal and ethical use of technology

* Provide ongoing support as needed
