Middle School Technology Integrator
Riverdale Country School seeks a Middle School Technology Integrator to join our technology team. This full-time, 12-month position is located at the Middle and Upper School campus and begins July 1, 2017. The Middle School Technology Integrator reports to the Co-Directors of the Technology Department and works closely with the Director of Academic Technology, the Technology Department, and administrators, teachers, and students in the Middle School.
Responsibilities

Promote technology use that supports excellent teaching and learning

Inspire, encourage, and support Middle School faculty with creative and interdisciplinary technology projects

Create, promote, and facilitate technological professional development for faculty and administration

Train students, faculty, and administration to use hardware or software in one-on-one or group settings

Teach up to a quarter-time in technology courses

Lead at least one after-school technology club (Robotics or Programming)

Participate in at least one other after-school technology club

Conduct technology integrations in classes with other MS faculty

Create online training and documentation

Test, troubleshoot, and support software and hardware

Collaborate closely with the Director of Academic Technology, the Technology Department, and various members of faculty and administration across all divisions

Support the needs of the Technology Department as requested
Possibilities

Expand our 3D design and printing offerings

Expand the offerings in our growing Computer Science department

Specialize in discipline-specific support of technology (Arts, Science, etc.)

Find other ways to incorporate exciting applications of technology into the Middle School
Requirements
-
B.A. or B.S. degree
-
Deep understanding and appreciation of theories of learning and pedagogy
-
At least four years’ experience in an educational technology integration role in a school environment
-
Experience conceiving, building, and conducting professional development opportunities for faculty and administration
-
Experience teaching Computer Science or Technology courses
-
Experience in programming, robotics, 2D design, 3D design, making, or (ideally) many of these
-
Demonstrated leadership in support and application of educational technology

Experience supporting and troubleshooting multiple computing platforms

Quickly learn unfamiliar tools in order to quickly help others use them

Entrepreneurial and self-motivated mindset: imagine and build new and exciting opportunities for students and employees

Exceptional collaborative skills, interpersonal abilities, and patience

Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills, including ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and follow through to completion
