SUMMARY 

Under the direction of the Director of Technology and in close association with Division Heads, the MS/US Educational Technologist will function as a cross-divisional expert in best practices in technology integration in a PK-12 environment, with knowledge of topics including but not limited to innovative learning environments, new media concepts, and digital citizenship. Responsibilities include student direct instruction, faculty professional development, and parent education.

This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt position. Some evening and weekend work is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In concert with the Educational Technologist team, design, deliver, and oversee professional development and growth experiences for faculty in technology integration, curriculum enhancement, digital citizenship, and instructional design.
  • Lead and teach a Digital Citizenship curriculum to students at intervals determined in coordination with colleagues.
  • Plan with classroom teachers, librarians, and learning specialists to design technology-integrated learning experiences to foster critical thinking and ethical problem-solving for optimal student technology and innovation skill development.
  • Inspire and further develop a culture of innovation, exploration, critical thinking, and problem-solving to meet the ever-evolving needs of Greenhill School.
  • Assist school colleagues with their programs, including technology installation, technology instruction, etc.
  • Work with Division Heads, other Educational Technologists, and teaching faculty to develop and design innovative teaching and learning spaces.
  • Assist in documenting internal procedures necessary for using educational technology apps, including the maintenance and administration of all educational technology services.
  • Provide tier 1 technical support for classroom technology, including faculty/student computers, projectors, interactive whiteboards, printers, and Greenhill-provided software solutions.
  • Work with the Director of Technology and fellow instructional technology staff to test, investigate, and deploy new classroom technology solutions to support curriculum alignment across all divisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, 5 years instructional technology experience, or demonstrated relevant experience establishing the same qualifications; candidates with master's degrees or postgraduate work in subject matter are strongly preferred.
  • Competency with student-centered technology and an interest in advancing and supporting its use to enhance student learning.
  • Ability to provide tier 1 technical support.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Office productivity software, Apple’s macOS and iOS Operating Systems, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Learning Management Systems (Blackbaud). Also capable of supporting computer hardware and peripherals, printers, projectors, and digital design tools.
  • Blackbaud Education and Learning Management System experience preferred.
  • Generative Artificial Intelligence experience preferred
  • Willingness to support in word and deed the technology initiatives set for the school

  • Superior technical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills with the ability to master new technologies and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of current technology pedagogy with the ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in technology and education.
  • Ability to evaluate tools and instructional practices considering broader academic goals.
  • Ability to collaborate with community members about potential technology needs to develop, market, and provide group and one-on-one training opportunities.
