Overview 
The Allen-Stevenson School is actively seeking a full-time Ed Tech Integrator to support the School’s faculty and students in their use of technology for teaching and learning. Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years teaching experience, a love of working with elementary and middle school students, and demonstrated success teaching technology skills in ​Grades 4-9​.  The ideal candidate ​must possess a passion for all forms of technology and an enthusiasm for learning and teaching new technology as it emerges.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver technology-integrated lessons that supports learning across the curriculum in grades 4-9
  • Co-create and co-teach a digital fluency curriculum in grades 5-7
  • Collaborate with both the technology team and faculty to develop and teach an innovative, integrated, and immersive scope and sequence to all grade levels
  • Teach robotics to 4​th​ grade students and plan for the introduction of coding at higher grades
  • Work alongside grade-level teams in the assessment of student progress in digital literacy and technology in grades 4-9
  • Teach electives (​pertaining to, but not limited to, making, coding, and robotics​) in MS and US
  • Attend regular divisional, grade-level, and subject-area meetings to provide support and guidance surrounding technology integration
  • Remain current on, and share information about, pedagogy and educational technology trends as well as the impact those trends might have on children
  • Collaborate with faculty to plan the integration of STEAM throughout the school and teach a STEAM course at one grade level

Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a strong parent educational technology program through new and existing outreach methods
  • Help to ​develop and maintain acceptable use policies for students and faculty
  • Provide assistance in configuring and troubleshooting individual computers including hardware/software, iOS devices, printers, all presentation hardware, and other various technology-related equipment
  • Assist in the training of faculty, staff, and administration in the use of the school's hardware and software resources
  • Act as a resource in troubleshooting users’ Apple, Microsoft Office, cloud-based and other software applications employed by the School

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with MacOS, iOS, and practical knowledge of mainstream educational software applications
  • An understanding of appropriate uses of technology in a K-9 setting, particularly in a 1:1 learning environment
  • Demonstrated experience teaching a variety of basic and emerging technology skills, including but not limited to, digital fluency, computer science, 3D printing, IoT, AR/VR, etc.
  • Must be able to support​ diverse levels of technical ability and skill sets
  • Energetic and eager to engage with students, faculty,  and parents
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of team
  • Innovative, results oriented, and energetic problem solver
