Middle/Upper School Technology Teacher
Position Description and Requirements
The Community School of Naples, an independent, college preparatory school, is currently seeking a motivated and talented Middle/Upper School Technology Teacher. This position requires a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in technology or a related field, and a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Technology Education, Engineering or similar field, Masters preferred.
The Community School is seeking an innovative educator for a full-time position in our Technology Department. Responsibilities for this post include Advanced Placement Computer Science A (Java Programming), App Design for iOS and/or Android and Swift. C++, C#, JavaScript and Python knowledge is also a plus. Additional knowledge of 3D printing using programs such as Google Sketch Up and Sculptris are also a plus.
What makes this position exciting is the opportunity to help develop a course of study centered around the innovation lab that is on our campus. These class sizes would average approximately 12 students. This position would include, but not be limited to, 5 classes a day. Candidate may also choose to mentor additional clubs such as Robotics or Programming Club. Prior experience in engineering, project-based learning and design work is desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire students to innovate and create are essential. The ideal candidate for this position is a person with wide-ranging interests who is eager to embrace the challenges and benefits from connecting computer science to the STEAM program on our campus.
Compensation and Benefits
The appointment will be for the academic year of August, 2015 through August, 2016. The appointment is a full-time, instructional position that will be paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment and qualifications.
