Mayfield Junior School is seeking an experienced technology support professional with a passion for education and working with faculty and students. The Mobile Device Support Specialist is a member of the Institutional Technology department and reports to the Director of IT. The primary responsibility of the position is to facilitate and manage our school-owned fleet of approximately 270 iPads. In addition, the position will assist about 125 students in our 1:1 iPad program with their student-owned devices.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Administer the school’s MDM (Mobile Device Management) system
- Prepare, deploy, and maintain all school-owned iPads
- Provide front-line support of Apple iPads to students, faculty, and staff
- Resolve technical support requests from students, faculty, and staff
- Create and manage Apple IDs for all students and faculty and staff
- Deploy and maintain school-owned mobile device carts and charging stations
- Research applications and needs for updates, changes, and faculty and staff requests
- Oversee all app purchasing and additional costs of iPad ownership
- Maintain the department’s asset management system
- Provide occasional training with students, staff, and parents on iPad usage
- Work closely with other IT staff to ensure school technology systems are operating effectively
- Work with IT staff to install and maintain in-classroom video and audio systems, including AppleTVs
- Provide front-line support of network copiers and printers
- Assist with modifying and updating technical documentation, training documents, and reference guides
- Serve as liaison to Education Technology Department
- Research and evaluate new technologies
- Work with IT staff on event set-ups, hardware maintenance, software updates, and other tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Mac OS, iOS, Apple VPP, and Apple GSX
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Experience working with a 1:1 iPad or other mobile device program
- Ability to establish rapport with faculty and students with varying technical levels
- Able to provide excellent customer service at all times
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
- Adept at working both independently and with a team
- Ability to work accurately under deadline pressure and multi-task various projects
- Prior experience with AirWatch MDM software a plus
- Experience working at a school a plus
- Apple certification a plus
- Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds
