Lancaster Country Day School (LCDS) is seeking an experienced technology instructor to teach at the middle and high school levels.  The LCDS technology curricula cover a wide array of instruction.  At the middle school level this includes an introductory trimester course in 6th grade that focuses on Google Apps, internet safety, and 3D Printing.  In 7th and 8th grades Lego Robotics and an Introduction to Computer Programing are elective offerings.  In the past, Scratch, Python, Arduino C++ and Java Script have been taught to highlight commonalities in programming structure.  At the high school level instruction would include 3D Design and Printing, Advanced 3D Design and Printing (five 3-D printers are available), and Robotics: FIRST Tech Challenge.  Additional technology instruction in the Upper School includes teaching AP Computer Science A.  Mentoring of science fair projects related to Computer Science at the Middle School and Upper School would be expected.  Given the breadth of the technology curricula at LCDS, the specific instructional tasks asked of the candidate may in part depend on the skill set and interests of the applicant.

Serving as an advisor to 7-10 students will likely also be part of the community-building responsibilities.

Though content is important, a focus on the development of 21st century skills and character education is paramount.  Most importantly, we seek a team player who wishes to be part of a vibrant learning community and engages students in a positive way.

Candidates should submit cover letter, resume and LCDS Employment Application to tarvinb@lancastercountryday.org.
