Network Administrator
Overview
Lick-Wilmerding High School seeks an experienced network administrator and technical support provider. Technology is an effective and vital partner in carrying out our school’s mission, and to that end, the job consists of two overlapping areas of responsibilities: (1) continual consultation and support of faculty, staff, and students of Lick-Wilmerding and, (2) working with the Director of Technology, maintenance of our back-end technology infrastructure. All responsibilities will require the Network Administrator to be self-motivated and eager to learn. He or she will be expected to manage his/her own learning to keep skills and knowledge current, and expand these skills as the school requires assisting our daily needs.
This position reports to the Director of Technology.
Responsibilities
• Provide help desk / technical assistance and support for all technology users for network/hardware/software issues on campus using school-‐site technology. This involves creating and maintaining logs of issues, prioritizing them, communicating resolution times with users, and following up.
• Provide constant end‐user training for hardware / software / network technologies for users with full spectrum of technical knowledge.
• Maintain user entry, ongoing access modifications and exit procedures within Open Directory and Active Directory and other LDAP structures.
• Daily network administration (including backup systems, security management, user account management, e-‐mail systems including e- ‐mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support).
• Support server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications. These range from Business Office applications to café management systems, and many other equipment one would see in an innovative school setting.
• Roll out end-user hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
• Maintain computer lab and laptop cart management systems.
