Project-Based Learning and Technology Integration Teacher
St. George’s Independent School seeks a passionate, entrepreneurial, and hard-working individual who is energized by work with families to serve as a Middle School Project- Based Learning and Technology Integration Teacher, beginning August 2018. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education, Master’s degree in teaching or education preferred
The successful candidate will possess skills and experience that would include the ability to:

teach sections of a 6th grade interdisciplinary course called Critical Thinking, Innovation, and Communication (CIC) which focuses on real-world issues and invites students to participate in finding solutions to those problems

create multi-disciplinary units of study in collaboration with the 6th grade team, using the principles of Understanding by Design (UbD), project-based learning (PBL), and Design Thinking (DT)

leverage PBL, DT, and our 1:1 laptop program as a way to enhance and transform learning for students; serve as a coach for colleagues to integrate new technology and applications

mentor a small group of students as a faculty advisor

attend overnight trips, chaperone student programs, and perform supervisory duties as needed
