Robotics Coach

Sinai Akiba Academy, a PreK-8th Grade Jewish Day School, is currently seeking a part time robotics coach, Monday-Thursday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. The Robotics Coach will play an integral role in our Elective Rotations, as well as our after school competitive robotics programs. These classes will be taught in our new Innovation Lab that is being constructed as part of our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) program.

Duties:
Co-Teach Vex IQ Robotics classes Monday-Thursday from 2:35-3:20
Lead afterschool competitive robotics club one-two afternoons a week (day TBD) from 3:30-4:45
Assist students with the design, engineering and programming of Vex IQ Robotics.
Work with the Director of Educational Technology, Middle School Director and other stakeholders to participate in a competitive robotic league.
Monthly meetings with robotics coaches.
Manage robotic inventory kits and facilitate ordering of new / replacement hardware.

Education & Qualifications:
A background in engineering preferred
Familiarity with RobotC / C Programming and/or other languages
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers.
Ability to work and coach students (experience with ages 10-14 preferred)
Willingness to learn
Enthusiasm about building and promoting a new Robotics program
