The purpose of this class is to provide on-going support and administration for enterprise systems and databases. This class analyzes system design and performance, recommend changes and updates, optimizes systems performance, and implements technology based solutions.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and five years of application or database experience. Master's degree preferred. Microsoft Certified Database Administrator for Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional certifications preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties:

Install, configure and maintain vendor supplied database systems and tools, database utilities, development tools, reporting tools, and application software packages.

Administers enterprise software systems and databases.

Reviews, evaluates and implements requests for changes to database architecture.

Analyzes, troubleshoots, and optimizes system and database performance.

Design, develop, and maintain specialized software applications.

Assist with end-user support and training, as required.

Establishes and maintains database standards and integrity.

Position Specific Essential Duties:

Optimize the availability and performance of Oracle and SQL databases.

Design, implement, document and test backup and recovery procedures.

Maintain system security and control access to data.

Perform data analysis and make recommendation to upper management about future hardware needs.

Allocate system storage and plan future storage requirements for databases.

Administration of web servers running Apache, Tomcat, IIS.

Develop and design complex integration of enterprise application systems.
