Senior Linux System Administrator
Position Summary |
This position is a member of the Linux team under ITS Global Systems. The Linux team is responsible for the building, configuration, management and patching of 800 virtual and standalone Linux servers which support critical ITS and campus services such as PeopleSoft, Sakai, Carolina CloudApps, and SAS Business Intelligence & Visual Analytics. We seek highly motivated applicants who enjoy working in a team environment to standardize, harden, optimize and troubleshoot critical Linux systems. Candidates should have a strong background not only in Red Hat Linux server administration, but also enterprise orchestration and management software and design. The selected candidate must be available for standby rotation for after-hours support. |

Educational Requirements |
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or a Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in operations analysis and design , systems programming or closely related area; or an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. |
