Senior Network System Administrator
Description
The Senior Network System Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day network operations and works with IT personnel and teams to ensure that the School’s computer systems and networks remain secure and reliable. This position also takes a high-level overview of information technology needs while maintaining computer networks, monitoring network availability, and collecting data to enhance security and reliability.
This is a full-time, year-round, exempt position and is benefits eligible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Device Access and Security

Oversee the wireless networks in terms of registration of devices, access, speed, and security, and monitor overall performance.

Supervise the registration of all devices.
Deploy and Configure Networks

Establish and configure networks for organization-wide use.

Determine the School’s data management and information technology needs and decide how to set up the network and provide users and the organization as a whole with constant access to servers and data storage sites.
Maintain System Integrity

Maintain reliable system performance through active monitoring of error logs and user-reported network issues.

Conduct regular tests to ensure that the system meets expectations for speed, security, and reliability.
Improve System Performance

Develop and deploy performance-enhancing measures throughout the network.

Make recommendations on key hardware and software decisions to improve network security, reliability, or speed.
Develop Back-end Network Architecture

Work with the team to design and oversee the installation of network-wide malware protection software, the development of firewalls, and the configuration of databases and access on the back end.
Requirements:

3-years minimum of network experience. Previous experience in a help desk, application support, or customer service is highly desired.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Essential Physical Requirements:

Most work is performed in a typical computer center or office environment with good lighting and ergonomic workstations.

Lifting: This position is physically active and includes lifting of components, occasionally up to fifty pounds.
