Senior Technical Support Specialist
Fraser Academy is seeking a full time Senior Technical Support Specialist. The Senior Technical Support Specialist is the first line of support for all technical support for staff and students at our school.
The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanour, be comfortable under pressure, and able to emphasize with students and staff when they experience technical difficulties. Communication and patience are key as you will be responsible for guiding end users through a troubleshooting process to solve problems. You must be friendly and speak clearly.
The Senior Technical Support Specialist will act to proactively and reactively solve problems. They will provide support for: desktops, laptops, applications, phones, tablets, network hardware, av systems, and cloud services. Additionally they will be responsible for designing and deploying images, monitoring security and privacy compliance, providing support and management of internal databases, ordering hardware and supplies.
The position is ideal for a candidate with 2+ years industry experience and have completed a 2 year diploma program that specialize in computer system technology, networking, technical service and deskside support.
Located in Kitsilano, Fraser Academy is a fully accredited and highly effective academic day school, specifically for students Grades 2 to 12, who have dyslexia or other related language-based, learning and processing difficulties. The Technical Support Specialist will:
- Provide first line support for staff and students
- Monitoring of end user security and privacy compliance
- Oversee and assist in the management of users in Active Directory, Avaya IP Office, MySchool, BlackBaud
- Oversee and assist in the imaging, deployment, and maintenance of computers and printers
- Ordering of supplies and hardware
- Maintain records as they relate to information technology
- Creating training documents
The ideal candidate requires the following:
- Certificate or higher in a computer related field
- Hands on knowledge of technologies from: Microsoft (Windows 10, Server 2012), Google Suite, Cisco Meraki, Avaya, Apple (Mac OS, iOS), Android
- Be detail oriented
- Ability to multitask; work on multiple service tickets simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
