The Software Solutions Engineer facilitates the movement of information and data between systems and people. This role has the primary responsibility of holistically overseeing the administration of Valor’s Financial, Constituent, and Student Information Systems while also developing and providing user training and support for the systems. In addition, this role will champion the school-wide use of the system to its fullest capacity and dissuade the use of data silos. Any future expansion of this system will also fall under the responsibility of this role. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Administer Valor’s Financial, Constituent and Student Information System
● Serve as the power user of the constituent and student information system
● Provide tier two technical support as assigned for each of the systems
● Administer and monitor all system interfaces

Maintain the Quality of Student and Constituent Information
● Ensure data entry functions performed by Valor faculty and staff result in a high level of quality, consistency and reliability of
data, including household, financial, attendance, and other types of information

Develop Operational Reports & Documentation
● Maintain proficiency with reporting tools used to present data from Valor’s core systems
● Create custom reports and train other Valor employees to use data query and reporting tools
● Document all software changes and updates 

Assist with Custom Application Support, Software Implementation and Training Projects
● Extract and transform data from old systems and import the data into new systems
● Manage data migration tasks within a defined schedule
● Develop and deliver user training for new software

RELATIONSHIPS
This position will interact with all areas of the school and will work directly within the Technology department. This position will also work collaboratively with our software vendors as needed throughout the year. 

RESULTS
Valor employees feel confident, supported and encouraged transitioning to new software solutions being adopted. Work productivity will increase as manual data processes are minimized or eliminated. Overall customer service is improved as we are now able to use our data to tell a better and more complete story of our students and constituents. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
● BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS) or Management Information Systems (MIS) preferred
● Minimum of three (3) years work experience in a comparable role with enterprise software applications
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Demonstrated competency transforming and importing data between enterprise software applications.
● Knowledge of SQL
● Strong problem-solving skills
● Ability to balance multiple simultaneous work assignments and complete them on time
● Detail oriented
● Customer service focused
