Job Summary
The Office of Information Technology is seeking applicants for the position of Information Technology Specialist level IV/V. This is a professional position responsible for supporting technologies and related services for several groups at Auburn University. The Specialist is a member of a User Services team within the Office of Information Technology.
This position will provide support with emphasis on administration of Windows deployment services and associated tools; management and support of computer software, hardware, and peripherals. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Administers Windows deployment services; Management of computers with Active Directory; troubleshoots computer software, hardware and Peripherals; prepares and maintains documentation for frequently performed tasks and procedures; writes scripts, etc. where possible to automate complex tasks; assists with monitoring and maintenance of systems used to manage computers. The Specialist will have the opportunity to assist, collaborate, and lead projects with internal and external partners. Some after-hours or weekend hours may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Entry into applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus five (5) years of experience administering Windows deployment services and associated tools, managing and supporting computer hardware and software using a variety of tools. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of some experience. The budgeted salary range for Level IV averages $57,000.
Level V requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus four (4) years of experience administering Windows deployment services and associated tools, managing and supporting computer hardware and software using a variety of tools. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of some experience. The budgeted salary range for Level V averages $65,000.
The candidate must demonstrate an in depth knowledge of current Windows operating systems; Windows deployment services; management of computers with Active Directory; use of PowerShell to manage and automate Windows administration. Significant skill in analysis and problem resolution associated with computer hardware and software is required.
The successful candidate must be committed to the delivery of quality service and be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as a team member, and comfortable learning and working in a dynamic environment. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills as well as a strong customer service focus are essential.
