STE(A)M/Math Instructor
Trinity seeks an engaging and highly relational instructional leader to teach in STE(A)M areas. Trinity is a K4-12th grade Independent Evangelical Christian School that teaches with a Biblical Worldview. We are known also for our penchant for innovation. We were the first in the River Region to qualify as an "Apple Distinguished School." This position would leverage outstanding teaching and technology to enable students in Math, Robotics, Design Thinking and other areas that would prepare them for the Upper School and beyond.
The STE(A)M concept integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/
Architecture and Math to offer opportunities for students to see real world application and relevance to their studies. The person taking on this role would have the opportunity to lead our collective conversation in these areas across both the Middle and Upper School. They model STEAM concepts while teaching in the Mathematics department likely teaching sections of Geometry. Additional course opportunities could be found in Physics and/or Computer Science depending on the expertise of the person in the role.
Trinity teachers are passionate about their Christian walk and look forward to the opportunity to integrate a biblical worldview within their courses. Trinity teachers are also devoted to innovation and welcome the chance to develop the best ways to improve student learning.
For this position, it is likely that candidates would have a BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or a related field. It is preferred that candidates have a Masters in Education and/or significant experience teaching high school students at a rigorous college preparatory level.
Ideal candidates would also have the ability to make an impact on student life outside the classroom in an area like athletic coaching, instruction in the arts or leading one of our competition teams such as Science Olympiad, Robotics, Scholars Bowl, etc. Trinity has distinguished itself as a leader in most of these areas.
All Trinity teachers pitch in to serve on strategic committees, supervise students, sponsor trips and otherwise serve the school as is customary at independent schools.
