Somersfield Academy is seeking professionally dedicated and suitably qualified faculty members for Secondary teaching positions for the 2017/2018 school year. In keeping with the school’s philosophy and approach, all successful applicants are expected to show initiative in their work, have respect for others, collaborate with their colleagues and display a commitment to the school. A passion for, and genuine interest in, nurturing children and supporting young people is required, as is a willingness to contribute to the school’s co-curricular programs.
 

Primary STEM (Innovations) Teacher

Successful applicant must have:

  • a Bachelors degree
  • a teaching license from the Bermuda Educators Council (BEC) or be qualified to be licensed
  • proficient skill set in their subject of specialization
  • aptitude to deliver an integrated curriculum with project based learning and real world applications while prompting critical thinking
  • knowledge of Robotics/Coding technology
  • civic minded and demonstrated skills as a STEM problem solver
  • a clear understanding of the integrated relationship of the STEM components (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
  • ability to manage students in a workshop setting
