Riverdale Country School is looking for a Support Specialist to join our technology team in a full-time, 12-month position, starting immediately. This position is based at our Hill campus (Middle & Upper School), but includes responsibilities that extend to the River campus (Lower School).

 

The Support Specialist is a helpdesk-based first responder who springs into action when technology issues interfere with school operations. You will work in a highly-functioning, collaborative Technology Department that values humor and humility while getting the job done; a good fit within our culture is important. We expect you to say “I’m not sure, I’ll find out who we should talk to” or “Let’s make sure I understand this..." as needed while working in our community. We hope you are a self-starter that sees problems, proposes solutions and is eager to learn new things.

 

Your responsibilities will generally involve typical Level 1 and Level 2 helpdesk tasks including:

  • maintaining and fixing classroom A/V equipment;

  • handling and purchasing Technology Department inventory;

  • replenishing and repairing our fleet of printers and copiers;

  • solving problems, repairing and imaging school-owned devices;

  • ensuring our loaner pool is in great shape and ready for action.

 

Professional helpdesk or similar experience is required. Also highly valued are

  • excellent people skills;

  • strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • a detail-oriented, organized approach to work;

  • a fantastic memory or system to replicate one,

  • and grace in thorny situations.
