System Administrator
Rutgers Preparatory School seeks to hire a 12 months, full-time systems administrator to join our IT Department. Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting the school’s network infrastructure and computer systems. The anticipated date for the successful candidate to start is July 1st, 2016. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot problems reported by users.
Make recommendations for future upgrades.
Analyze and isolate issues.
Evaluate and modify system's performance.
Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
Ensure network connectivity throughout the school’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
Design and deploy networks.
Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting school’s computer systems. This includes the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. He/she ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling faculty, staff, trustees, and volunteers. This individual will assist and report to the Director of Technical Services.
This individual is accountable for the following systems: Windows Server, Cisco and HP networking, Ruckus Wireless hardware and Macintosh desktops and laptops. Responsibilities on these systems include engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a related field
Experience with a Microsoft Windows based network.
Proficiency with Apple and Windows operating systems
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Ability to work well independently, as well as collaboratively
