Position Summary:
The Systems Administrator maintains the web based Help Desk ticket system and assigns tickets to the appropriate people in the department. He/she prepares and configures computers for installation and deployment and provides troubleshooting support for all faculty, students and staff. The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the AV needs for all major school events, as well as provide support for our Fabrication and Design Equipment in the context of the school's Innovation Labs. Should a device require repair, the Systems Administrator will start that process and update the ticket to show its progress. The Systems Administrator will provide support for the Director of IT in all aspects of that role.
Responsibilities:
The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of the post holder. The tasks, and the time spent performing them may vary as business needs require. HTS maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion. The range of specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Systems Administration
- Competently performs the duties of the Director of IT when he/she is absent.
- Oversees the IT requirements for daily chapel services and theatre performances and other major school functions.
- Collaborates with the Technology Integration team, the Systems Administrator, creates images for all computers and iPads. She/he installs, tests and configures software on all faculty technology (laptops and tablets), classroom desktops and COW laptops.
- Designs, configures, and maintains the HTS Web Help Desk system.
- Maintains and troubleshoots desktop and laptop problems, logging all work in the HTS Help Desk ticket software.
- Provides technical support to the Director of IT and Technology Integration Team.
- Researches and reports on new software and updates existing relevant technologies.
- With the Director of IT, manages and maintains all aspects of the HTS IT infrastructure including firewalls, servers, backups, APs, switches and core.
- Provides maintenance for equipment and supervision support for the school's innovation labs and equipment.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by the Director of IT
Communication
- Builds relationships with faculty, staff, students and the HTS community.
- Contributes to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Other
- Provides support to the Executive Director of Innovation and Technology when requested.
- Fulfills other duties and responsibilities reasonably assigned.

General
- Extensive knowledge of an experience with Mac OS X and current iOS versions.
- Extensive Apple computer and tablet troubleshooting experience.
- Extensive experience with Mac OS X in a network environment.
- A working knowledge of Networking equipment (switches, wireless, firewall, NAC).
- Google Certified Trainer.
- Experience working in a school setting.
- Strong interpersonal savvy with ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy.
- Significant comfort and flexibility in researching, learning and exploring new products, skills and competencies.

Education:
- Diploma or Degree in a Technical Field (Networking, Computer Science) or equivalent certification.
Working Experience:
- 1-2 years of professional experience working in a networked environment.
