Systems Administrator
About the Position
The Systems Administrator oversees the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling faculty, staff, students and partners to function effectively.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide user support and troubleshooting to the entire CFA community
Prepare and deploy new hardware, OS images and Software
Administer VMware
Administer wired and wireless network hardware and software
Build and maintain onsite and offsite servers
Manage the domain controllers and other critical network equipment
Plan and administer active directory infrastructure
Administer email and productivity system with Google Apps
Manage print server, printers and copier fleet
Tier 2 troubleshooting
Computer and cabling repairs as needed
Desktop and laptop configuration and deployment
Creates and deploys system images
Creates and deploys software packages and updates
Installs and maintains wireless and wired network components
Troubleshoots networking issues relating to networking equipment
Maintains network users folders and permissions
Helps Monitor backup systems, restores files when needed
Repairs hardware as needed
Performs other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
2 to 5 years as a network administrator in a large to medium business
Knowledge of vmware and windows servers
Bachelor’s degree in an IT field
