The Fresno Unified data center infrastructure consist of over 900 cores, 5 TB of ram and over 200 terabytes of storage hosting over 400 virtual servers. It includes infrastructure equipment from 3PAR, Big IP, and Cisco. And it annually serves over 72, 000 students and 9, 000 staff with cloud and on premise enterprise services.
The System Administrator, reports to the Systems Engineers and is responsible for implementing and maintaining solutions in the data center and core infrastructure. These solutions will include Microsoft server, SCCM, Backup Systems, Hyper V clustering, Datacenter Networking, SAN such as HP 3par, among others. The System Administrator will be asked to automate tasks with PowerShell or other scripting options. The System Administrator must be able to work in hybrid cloud environment spanning both private and public clouds. As well as IaaS and SaaS environments.
The System Administrator will work as part of the data center team but will called upon at times to support and work alongside the networking and user support teams as directed. They will also work with department staff to install configure and maintain Department specific solutions.
Requirements/Licenses: Any combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field, supplemented with course work or experience in the training, programming, use, and installation of server hardware and software.
Five year of professional experience in position related to job duties.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or equivalent or ability to obtain within one year and pass test in Server Technology.
Valid California driver's license.
Special Requirement: The position may work additional assignments including evenings and weekends to accommodate testing, support, maintenance and potential call back duty responsibilities.
