Systems Support Administrator
San Francisco Friends School (SFFS), a coeducational K-8 school with approximately 430 students, seeks a self-motivated individual who has experience supporting Apple and PC computers, devices, AV equipment and printers. The Systems Support Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, distributing and maintaining Apple iOS and OS X and Microsoft Windows devices, computers, peripherals and AV equipment. The Technology Support Specialist will report directly to the Director of Technology and will work collaboratively with all other constituents in the school community (faculty, staff, students and parents).
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Image, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair Apple (300+) and PC (~25) computers and peripheral devices such as printers, cameras, and other mobile devices
● Support 100+ iOS and Android devices
● Maintain inventory of equipment and software using FileMaker Pro database
● Provide support and training for all campus wide applications
● Provide support and maintenance for all audio-visual equipment
● Responsible for sign-out of equipment (e.g. laptops, cameras, cables, etc.)
● Manage helpdesk system
● Complete helpdesk work orders as assigned
● Provide support for Google Apps
● Assist teachers and students with classroom media and technology projects
● Provide A/V support for school events, which are occasionally during the evening and on weekends
● Work with outside vendors as needed
● Perform tasks delegated by a supervisor
● Maintain and periodically audit server backups
Qualifications:
● Bachelor Degree or 3 years equivalent experience
● Expert knowledge of Apple OS X and iOS
● Minimal knowledge of TCP/IP networking, related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP)
● Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Apple-certified Desktop and Portable Technician
● Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical students and teachers
● Experience or exposure working in an academic environment
● Knowledge of Google Apps for Business or Schools
● Experience supporting Wireless networks
● Experience with FileMaker Pro Server
● Knowledge of OS X Server
● Knowledge of Windows Server
Preferred Skills:
● Strong written and oral communication skills
● Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner
● Excellent organizational and time management skills
● Ability to multi-task
