Systems Support Analyst & Software Developer
UTS is in the midst of a number of educational and operational initiatives, and is looking for a gifted Systems Support Analyst and Software Developer to join the UTS IT Department.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Manager, IT Services and members of the UTS Administration, the System Support Analyst provides high level technical and software support to ensure that all UTS computer systems are kept at the highest level of functionality and accessibility for all client groups. This position acts as the designated back up to the Manager, IT Services and the Systems Applications Officer, and assists in the balancing, and completion of complex projects, as well as the handling of more routine daily matters and IT workflow/project coordination. Accordingly, this position requires an excellent grasp of IT and software development processes, and an understanding of the breadth of responsibilities handled by the Manager, specifically as pertaining to software development and system implementation projects. Duties include: coordinating equipment and software setup protocol; ensuring that the school’s global electronic profile and all electronic communication services operate effectively and managing of various multimedia data. This position will have access to sensitive school and personal information (e.g. passwords, confidential emails, and documents not meant for public broadcast) and must maintain strict security of all such information.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Post secondary degree or 3- year diploma, with a concentration in programming with certification in at least one of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, MCP/MTA, CCNA, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: 4 years experience providing system support and IT/Media Technical Support with proven track record of maintaining confidential information.
Skills:
Must Have:

Proficiency in an Object Oriented Programming language, SQL and experience working with ReSTful APIs;

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting;

Proficiency in Javascript;

Knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle Database Administration

Ability to create reports by querying and combining datasets such as relational databases, APIs and text files

General workstation and network troubleshooting (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, MCP/MTA, CCNA);

Excellent interpersonal skills, and an understanding of customer service, as well as patience and tact with users;

good judgment; accuracy and attention to detail;

knowledge of intellectual property rights and licensing.

Salary range: This position is unionized. Salary is based on a salary grid.
