Teacher of Design Technology

Somersfield Academy is seeking professionally dedicated and suitably qualified faculty members for Secondary teaching positions for the 2017/2018 school year. In keeping with the school’s philosophy and approach, all successful applicants are expected to show initiative in their work, have respect for others, collaborate with their colleagues and display a commitment to the school. A passion for, and genuine interest in, nurturing children and supporting young people is required, as is a willingness to contribute to the school’s co-curricular programs.

Secondary Teacher of Design Technology

Successful applicant must have:

• a Bachelors degree in relevant discipline
• a B.Ed/PGCE
• a teaching license from the Bermuda Educators Council (BEC) or be qualified to be licensed
• a minimum of five years instruction practice in Secondary level Design Technology (ages 11-18)
• experience teaching IB MYP-DP and/or UK Key Stage 4-5 in Design Technology
• the ability to design and deliver quality curriculum in digital and product design (graphic products, resistant materials, systems and controls)
• skills in STEM, Vex Robotics, computer science and coding
