As a member of the Center for Executive Education reporting to the Sr. Instructional Designer, the Technology Support Specialist for Executive Programs will provide internal and external client support for the Fox School of Business’ Executive MBA Philadelphia and Global Programs, and for the Center for Executive Education. The Technology Support Specialist will provide web-conferencing training and academic support of technology for faculty, staff, students and guests. She/he will set up and host web conferencing sessions and provide support for faculty, staff and students in Executive MBA courses and other Executive Education initiatives. During the virtual sessions the incumbent will manage the behind the scenes technical aspects of the meetings so faculty or facilitators can concentrate on teaching. In collaboration with the Center for Executive Education Instructional Design team, the Technology Support Specialist will also support the development of new educational technology innovations that enhance the student learning experience. Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 1 year directly related experience that includes building and managing AV systems; working hands-on with laptops and PCs; supporting web-based software such as WebEx and Blackboard; working with Windows and Mac OS operating systems; and installing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends as necessary for orientations, face-to-face classes and virtual classes. Attendance at all EMBA class weekends and all Global and domestic EMBA WebEx sessions are required.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with networking concepts, TCPIP, home networks, wireless routers, webcams, and tablet technology.
  • Able to install AV and IT related infrastructure (cabling, connectors, rack assembly)
  • Able to install, operate and service most AV equipment and systems.
  • A working knowledge of analog and digital video/audio systems and the ability to resolve EDID, DDC and HDCP issues within these systems
  • Familiarity with resolving remote connectivity issues.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of video editing software (Camtasia) 
  • A+ certification or industry recognized equivalent.
  • AV certification
  • Essentials of AV Technology, Infocomm or recognized equivalent.
  • Experience in higher education.
