Technical Manager

Position Summary:

Administer the day-to-day operations of the Dance and New Media Concentration, Department of Dance, Tisch School of the Arts. Create and implement operational policies and procedures. Oversee and mentor student utilization of technologies to achieve artistic and creative objectives including web presence, video technology, social media, live streaming, etc.. Recruit, hire and supervise assigned staff; oversee assigned budget.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree and/or graduate coursework

Required Experience:
2 years of media operations, and administrative experience (e.g., administering services/ processes, budgets, and staff) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in academic, performing arts and/or media environment

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to operate a wide variety of production equipment (analog and digital audio). Able to troubleshoot and perform moderately complex repairs. Ability to train others in equipment use. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and technical skills. Demonstrated proficiency with a wide range of current projection, media and audio/video technologies. Ability to communicate policies and procedure to students, faculty and staff. Knowledge of standard office software

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge and proficiency with emerging current and emerging media technologies (e.g. projection, flat screen, streaming, and presentation software and audio equipment)
