Primary Purpose:

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Valid teacher certificate required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
  • Well-versed in thoughtful technology integration
  • Ability to develop and deliver professional learning to adult learners
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Experience:

  • Three or more years of experience in a teacher leadership role/coaching role
  • Five or more years teaching experience preferred

Major Responsibilities, Duties, and Functions:

Learning Facilitator: As a learning facilitator, an Educational Partner helps coordinate and facilitate learning experiences for school staff.

  • Well-versed and able to provide professional learning and support for all staff to implement the district’s guaranteed-viable curriculum, best instructional practices, high quality assessment strategies and a student-centered learning environment.
  • Visible and available at your primary campus on a regular basis for just-in-time support and learning for staff and students.
  • Coordinate projects with Technology Services & CIA departments including staff development and programs throughout the year and during the summer for your primary campus and across the district.

Catalyst for Change: An Educational Partner models and facilitates continuous improvement on the classroom, school and district levels.

  • Serve as the bridge for effective communication and planning for change between your primary campus, Technology Services & CIA departments as well as any other stakeholders.
  • Support Technology Services by leading the vetting and procuring process as well as the design, development, and analysis of curriculum tools, apps, instructional resources and other online curricula that integrates seamlessly on student devices.

Learner: In the role of Learner, the Educational Partner models continuous learning.

  • Connect with other educators and professionals to improve collaboration both within the district and globally.
  • Actively pursue and share professional growth and development to keep abreast of current educational trends and research as related to practices including instructional technology.

Mentor: As a Mentor, the Educational Partner builds relationships and serves as a critical friend supporting all teachers.

  • Utilize strong consulting and collaboration skills to serve as a mentor for teachers as learners.
  • Anticipate and prepare for the needs of campus staff.
  • School Leader: An Educational Partner as a school leader assists and serves on leadership teams within the school for the district.
  • Collaborate with district, school, and grade-level/department teams in a variety of capacities.

 

  • Lead in implementation of the District and Campus Improvement Plans and the strategies contained therein including technology, curriculum and pedagogical practices.Curriculum Specialist:
  • The Educational Partner supports teachers by helping with the "what" of teaching.

     

    • Coordinate with Technology Services & CIA departments to facilitate the implementation of state/district curriculum initiatives including new TEKS in core areas and technology applications. This may include leading grade level core meetings in developing curricular documents and assessments.
    • Create, implement, and support curriculum that utilizes multimedia and multimodal resources to support teachers foster and improve an accessible learning environment.

    Resource Provider: As a Resource Provider, the Educational Partner assists teachers with materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction.

    • Well-versed and able to provide professional learning and support for all staff to implement district and campus initiatives.
    • Apply district rubrics and requirements while identifying, evaluating and selecting technology resources for staff and student use.
    • Apply technology integration model and concepts of universal design when creating instructional support resources and professional learning.
    • Design, create and publish multimedia and online content including learning modules, social media tools, videos and print materials.
    • Support the adoption and implementation of interoperability standards and alignment with instructional support materials and tools.
    • Participate and conduct research and make recommendations for innovative technology integration and tools.
    • Available to support campus staff and students across the district.
    • Coordinate technology related projects with the Technology Services and other district departments.
    • Facilitate projects and tasks for the Educational Technology team and Chief Technology Officer.

    Classroom Supporter: As a Classroom Supporter, an Education Partner is a co-planner, a co-teacher, and a feedback provider.

    • Co-teach and model instruction including best practices in the use of technology, use of flexible spaces, SEL & UDL and disciplinary literacy strategies, etc.
    • Support teachers to plan, implement and receive feedback to improve instruction for all student groups.

    Other:

    • May include willingness to work hours in addition to the regular work day, either in person or online.
    • May include other duties as assigned.
