La Salle High School is seeking a dynamic educator to lead the technology and engineering department

 

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Design and plan for growth of technology and engineering department, including AP computer science classes and STEAM courses
  • Oversee faculty in technology and engineering department providing regular observations and feedback
  • Participate in the Academic Affairs committee
  • Teach technology classes as assigned, including, but not limited to, digital game design, computer applications courses, AP computer science courses
  • Engage students in an active, effective learning environment;
  • Provide regular, varied and appropriate assessments of student learning to compile appropriate grades and properly determine what and how all students are learning;
  • Communicate consistently with students, parents and school personnel;
  • Work with appropriate administrators, the Learning Specialist, and/or counselors to support students that may have special learning needs;
  • Keep current and complete grading and attendance records.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Undergraduate degree in technology or related field;

• Ability to work collaboratively to promote student learning.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Teaching credential and/or masters in education

• Experience working as a high school teacher;

• Experience in private, preferably Catholic, school setting

• Facility with web-based learning and/or digital resources.
