The Technology Assistant is a part-time position and reports to the Director of Technology. This candidate should be able to focus and multitask in a busy school environment, with the ability to execute problem-solving skills in a friendly and professional manner. Prior experience with technical support services is a plus. Familiarity with as many of the following technologies as possible is desired: Apple Macintosh, Windows, ChromeOS, Android, and iOS operating systems; Microsoft Of ce; Google Docs; Filemaker Pro, or any database applications; and any programming experience.

The Technology Assistant’s role may include lead or assistant teaching of lower school students, depending on the candidate’s interests. The position may also be combined with other part-time positions at Live Oak.

Start date is August 7-13, 2018.

Primary Responsibilities: Desktop Support

  • Perform troubleshooting of computer-related questions and problems from students and staff

  • Perform research to and short- and long-term solutions to technical issues

  • Update and maintain student and staff workstations and laptops 

  • operating system upgrades 

  • software upgrades

  • printer installation

  • etc

  • Issue and track technological equipment loaned to students and staff

Miscellaneous

  • Assist with departmental documentation efforts

  • Assist with cataloging and tagging photos in school image repository

  • Teach (or assist with teaching) technology classes to lower school student (optional)
