Westmark School is currently seeking a Technology Assistant who is an experienced technology professional familiar with educational environments.

The Technology Assistant’s role is to ensure proper operation of hardware and software, including iPads, computers, laptops, printers, Smartboards, and other items as required. The Technology Assistant is the primary support contact and must be “hands-on” and participate in the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the school’s technological systems. This individual must be able to interact effectively, in person or remotely, with all users having varying levels of technology expertise.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary support contact for staff, faculty, and students;
  • Participate in the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the school’s technological systems;
  • Perform hands-on fixes, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware
  • Identify, diagnose and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner; analyze trends and performance, and provide maintenance to prevent future problems on school systems;
  • Assist with management of the school’s 1:1 iPad program;
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install apps on iPads and its accessories;
  • Maintain excellent communication with all end users and other members of the Technology department;
  • Coordinate installation and configuration of hardware, software and peripherals;
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of system configurations;
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the school;
  • Administer user accounts and contact lists for all school systems;
  • Coordinate setup, and operate (as needed), audio and video equipment for day and evening events;
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory;
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and software and stay abreast of emerging trends;
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of desktop administration experience
  • 2+ years of help-desk experience or remote phone support
  • Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting iPads, desktops/laptops, hardware, standard desktop software, antivirus, patch management
  • Knowledge of Smartboard and all of its features
  • 2+ years’ experience with Mac and Windows OS
  • 1+ years’ experience with GoogleApps
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint
  • Team player
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects
  • Must be able to interact effectively, in person or remotely, with all users having varying levels of technology expertise
