Ojai Valley School is seeking a full-time Technology Coordinator to work as part of a team advancing the school’s technology initiatives on its two campuses in Ojai, California. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in independent thinking, strong problem-solving, technical and communications skills, and demonstrated proficiency in desktop support, networking, server management, and website development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Director of Technology, and exercising a high degree of independence, the Technology Coordinator will play a central role in maintaining and advancing the school’s Information Technology operations for fall and summer programs while providing leadership and support for the effective use of technology in support of the school’s mission.
Specific responsibilities and duties of this position include:
- Provide initial desktop support to faculty, staff and administrators.
- Maintain the school’s wired and wireless network and server infrastructure.
- Maintain the school’s server infrastructure including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, backups, storage and Filemaker database server.
- Assist with the management of the Zimbra Collaboration server, the Moodle web-based Course Management system, and Wiki.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology on the project list for future technology upgrades, as well as on-going technology needs and requests on both campuses.
- Assist the Director of Technology with database management of student information systems on both campuses.
- Train faculty and staff in use of Technology tools in informal one-on-one sessions and scheduled seminars.
- Assist the Director of Technology with management and development of the school’s websites for fall and summer programs.
- Inspire teachers and students to embrace the use of technology; Demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm to support the technology needs and projects initiated by teachers and students.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology to find and evaluate cutting-edge technologies the school might be interested in and introduce them to faculty and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience troubleshooting and using Macs and PCs preferred
- Knowledge of networking
- Strong technology literacy
- Experience working with technology in an academic environment
- Familiarity and experience with Active Directory, Routed IP Networks, Web Servers, Linux and Windows Servers, DHCP and DNS
- Experience troubleshooting printers
- Knowledge of wireless networking implementation, configuration, and security
- Knowledge of Filemaker Pro preferred
