The Technology Coordinator and Specialist has primary responsibility for the administration and proper function of all school technology, including servers, network equipment, and client computers, provides timely and responsive technology support and training, and assists with long-range planning, purchasing, and implementation of technology infrastructure.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide timely and effective technology support, training, and orientation for all community members.
- Install, configure, maintain, and manage technology infrastructure including: servers, cloud services, email, security systems, networking systems and equipment, backup systems, audiovisual equipment, tablets, laptops, desktops, printers, etc.
- Deploy, manage, and support school-owned hardware, software, and services.
- Research and purchase new hardware, software, and services.
- Create and maintain online instructions and support documentation for commonly used technologies.
- Manage the student technology support program during the school year and over the summer; supervise, train, and mentor the students.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
- A bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience working in technology administration and support are preferred.
- Experience with and understanding of the technology requirements of an academic institution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills: responsive, personable, approachable, helpful, ability toclearlycommunicate solutions and train community members.
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn: OS X, iOS, OS X Server, Linux, Windows. VMWare, OS X Server, Chromebook management, JAMF Casper Suite, OpenDNS, and Google Apps for Education.
- Experience with minor repairs of hardware.
- Knowledge of wired and wireless networking equipment and administration, especially Cisco and HP hardware and software.
- Knowledge of audiovisual equipment.
- Ability to learn and adapt as technology changes and school needs evolve.
