Technology Coordinator
Esperanza Academy seeks a part-time technology coordinator who supports end-users and maintains the school’s technology equipment, IT assets, software systems, and network connections. This includes troubleshooting problems and training the end-user base. The coordinator will also assist in performing basic to intermediate server administration and maintenance, including networks, servers, communications, and applications, across a multi-network environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee all administrative aspects of technology programs and services within the school, including infrastructure implementation and maintenance, Google Suite, support of administrators, faculty, and staff in the use of hardware, equipment, and management.

Provide leadership in the purchase and acquisition of new technology and equipment while consulting with appropriate stakeholders to coordinate, evaluate and recommend and purchase new technology and equipment.

Manage the implementation and coordination of education technology software for students and faculty members.

Manage Google Suite and be the point person for any troubleshooting issues for the faculty/staff, students, and board.

Manage the repairs, maintenance, and distribution of Chromebooks for students and Faculty PCs.

Manage and troubleshoot the school network and access points.

Provide technical support and training to students, faculty, and staff—including 1:1 initial equipment setup.

Act as the first point of contact for error reporting and tech support.

Provide event support for audiovisual and computer needs.

Install and configure hardware and software with a focus on usability and security.

Troubleshoot technology issues.

Repair, drop off for repair or replace damaged hardware.

Help perform tests and evaluation of new software and hardware.

Update inventory and other records as appropriate.

Assist with on and off-boarding employees and maintaining loaner equipment.

Help maintain the wired/wireless network.

Work with the Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction on implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting academic software, including Jupiter, MAP, and GoGuardian

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Three years or more experience with technology team management and systems. Experience with integration of technology in academic programs and curricula strongly preferred.

Ability and experience to monitor and proactively assess, evaluate, and manage all hardware and software systems and overall network design.

Experience developing policies and procedures in alignment with academic objectives and overall school vision, including but not limited to appropriate/acceptable use of computers, mobile devices, BYOD, Internet, and security.

Experience managing Windows networks and working knowledge of Apple computers, Wi-Fi technologies, and mobile operating systems (iOS, Android, etc.) also required.

Strong working knowledge of security protocols and best practices in order to design and maintain systems that backup and protect the integrity of critical school data. This includes but is not limited to: backup systems; firewalls, web filters, antivirus, and other peripheral security systems; security policies, both written and in software; and training community members on scams and threats such as phishing and ransomware.
