Job Summary

Responsible to the Director of Academic Technology Services for providing support to users in academic or administrative departments by assessing, training and assisting with the utilization, application and integration of hardware and software solutions into web-enhanced and web-based instructional settings; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of computer software applications. 

  • Knowledge of IP-based video conferencing system administration. 

  • Knowledge of videoconferencing / webconferencing systems, technology and standards. Knowledge of/experience with video production equipment, techniques and standards. Knowledge of recording systems used in lecture capture/distribution. 

  • Knowledge of network file server administration. 

  • Knowledge of livestreaming technology and standards. 

  • Knowledge of computer operating systems. 

  • Knowledge ofIP-based streaming protocols. 

  • Knowledge of PC setup and configuration. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Ability to oversee and coordinate classroom technicians/installation. 

  • Ability to setup remote video conferencing units and operations of those units. 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. 

  • Ability to work independently. 

  • Ability to work non-standard hours. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software. 

  • Oral and written interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience with technology, technology training/education or education required.

  • Evidence of strong customer or student support and presentation skills required.

  • Experience with web conferencing systems required.

  • One year experience with technology, technology training/education or education required, evidence of strong customer or student support and presentation skills required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s preferred

  • Experience with IP-based conferencing systems preferred;

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office products preferred;

  • Experience with academic course management systems such as Brightspace by D2L, Blackboard, or Canvas preferred.

  • Experience in an academic setting preferred. (Experience as a part-time employee or graduate assistant may be considered.)

Salary $37,990 - $46,250
