Technology Director
Requirements/Experience:
- Master Degree in Instructional Technology and have experience in leading a cutting edge, technology driven educational program. Preference given to classroom experience and good human relations skills.
Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for the district's information technology planning and leadership under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent.

Responsible for the interaction and upgrade of the various systems and servers that make up the district's information technology infrastructure.

Maintain the technology enhanced learning spaces across the district.

Oversee and coordinate the life cycle of all computer equipment and replace in a systematic manner.

Ensure backup strategies meet the business continuity goals of the district.

Monitor and evolve the district's local and wide area network.

Provide oversight of training sessions for all staff and faculty.

Research technology trends and inform the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of district needs.

Serve as a resource to the various district committees relative to technology.

Develop working relationships with district technology coaches, principals, and "early adapter" teachers.

Promote change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.

Responsible for all aspects of the technology budget, including but not limited to, preparation/revision, monitoring all expenditures, and ensuring that proper accounting procedures are followed.

Assist the business manager with identifying ways to contain cost and limit increases of expenditures that are in the district's control.

Advocate for continuous learning for the members of the technology department.

Serve as the District Representative to the LIU for appropriate regional technology related material.

Oversee the responsibilities of the technology staff, delegating assignments as needed.

Must be able to speak clearly and distinctively; be able to read correspondence/computer screen; and have an auditory acuity sufficient to communicate via phone.

Must be courteous, congenial, cooperative, service-oriented, able to work independently or in a team (as circumstances warrant), and able to work with frequent interruptions.

Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time; walk throughout buildings; climb stairs; lift/carry at least 20 pounds; and bend, twist, reach, stoop, grasp, and have sufficient dexterity to operate office equipment.

Must be able to communicate effectively with students, personnel at all levels, and members of the public; follow written and verbal directions; provide direction and motivate subordinates; read, comprehend, and perform computations; write and correspond at a post-secondary level; work independently or in a team; direct personnel consistent with district policies, regulations, and work rules; and exercise good judgment.
