To begin as soon as available, the Technology Director works under general direction of the Vice President of Finance; manages and supervises departmental functions and responsibilities; assumes responsibility for planning, assigning and reviewing work of subordinates under direction; assumes responsibility for planning and recommending general departmental responsibilities as directed; exercises discretion and independent judgment with authority to make important decisions. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Master's degree is required in Computer Information Systems or related field. Must have excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, proficiency in problem-solving, detail orientation, organizational skills, a self-starter, and the ability to maintain confidences; and all aspects of IT networks including router, firewall and switch installation and configuration, virtualization, and Windows networking systems. Preference will also be given to candidates with certifications in A+, Network+, CCNA, MTA, MCSA, MCSE. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • provide technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing information and instructional technology that foster a productive academic environment for students, staff, faculty and administration at Brewton Parker College;
  • identify changes and trends in computer and systems technology and interpret their meaning and implications to the college's executive staff;
  • lead, guide, and oversee overall business and budgetary planning for IT, bringing current knowledge and future vision of technology, systems, and infrastructure related to the organization's competitive position;
  • lead and coordinate the development of integrated, strategic information technology plans and policies;
  • serve as a standing member of the College Technology Committee, which recommends policies, procedures, and long range planning initiatives as described in the Policy and Procedure Manual;
  • assure integrity of organization data, proprietary information, and related intellectual property through information security and access management;
  • encourage cooperation among all units of the College to ensure the most efficient use of information and learning technology in the college community;
  • work with administration, faculty, and staff in all college divisions and serve as the principal IT liaison with external organizations and agencies;
  • provide project management for information and instructional technology initiatives undertaken by the College;
  • oversee management of the campus network, email, computer labs, web site, e-Learning system, administrative data processing system, telecommunication system, and other major components of the College's technology infrastructure; and perform other duties as requested by the Vice President of Finance, and President.
