Technology Integration Architect

The Technology Integration Architect is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting complex technology-based solutions. They are part of a team with broad but related responsibilities including: 1 ) Securely delivering core technology infrastructure services such as enterprise-wide email, messaging and collaboration, 2) Providing accurate, reliable and secure solutions for enterprise-wide Identity and Access Management (IAM), 3) Designing and developing integration solutions involving complex and disparate technology services and systems, 4) Maintaining an advanced level of proficiency across many different supported technologies.

• Administering Microsoft Office 365 core tenant and services

• Designing, supporting, maintaining, securing and integrating core university services such as: Email services, including routing, security policy, bulk email and brand management; Cloud-based document storage and collaboration services; Instant messaging, presence, real-time collaboration services for all university employees and students

• Developing reports and business processes for core infrastructure services

• Monitoring core infrastructure services for up time and availability

• Programmatically enforcing compliance for high-risk data based on state and university requirements, in conjunction with the ITS Security Team

• Researching, designing, developing, and presenting complex technical solutions to management and technical staff

• Developing processes, controls, scripts and custom tools

• Providing consulting services for enterprise technology projects

• Integrating student and human resources information systems with central account management and cloud-based service providers

• Designing and developing identity and provisioning tools for university IT support staff

• Designing and developing self-service account and identity management websites for multiple end-user services

• Creating, supporting and maintaining federation trusts with external vendors and applications.

• Learning and developing professionally in multiple areas of technical services, security, server administration, cloud and virtual services

• Participating in multi-organizational professional associations

• Fostering an atmosphere of collaborative problem solving to ensure that the technology needs of the university and its strategic plans are met

• Displaying a strong commitment to customer service

• Helping wherever possible to cause improvement in the team

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field PLUS at least five years related experience, OR at least 10 years related experience

• Experience with Windows servers and associated services including Windows Server 2008+, Active Directory, IIS

• Understanding of industry-standard email server and client protocols such as: SMTP, POP/IMAP/MAPI/EWS/EAS, SPF/DKIM/DMARC

• Experience with and understanding of Identity Federation using services, synchronization and protocols such as: Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Shibboleth, Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), Microsoft Azure AD Connect, InCommon Federation of Federation

• Experience designing and developing solutions with scripting tools such as: PowerShell, Perl, shell scripting

• Experience designing and developing web-based solutions using languages such as: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, or ASP.NET/C#, including creating and consuming REST services

• Experience working with version control systems such as Git

• Experience designing and developing applications using common RDBMS services such as: Oracle, Microsoft

• Experience with desktop operating systems and office suites including Windows, Microsoft Office, macOS, and Linux

• Must have a flexible and professional attitude towards working hours, including on-call availability outside business hours

• Knowledge of, and extensive experience administering, Microsoft Office 365 services including: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online

• Experience administering Unix or Linux Services in an enterprise environment including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) with deep technical understanding of Linux services including: Apache, Mailman, Postfix

• Experience administering Sophos Email Appliances

• Experience designing and deploying complex solutions and services in a large enterprise environment

• Certifications such as: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified Database Administrator or Developer; Cloud Certification in Microsoft Office 365, Azure or Amazon AWS

• Experience utilizing central logging services to find issues affecting end-users and to develop monitoring for proactive alerting to problems

• Experience working in a university environment
