Technology & Integration Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
For over two decades The York School has stood as a leader in innovative technology integration in JK-12 education. This position is an integral part of the school's Learning, Innovation and Technology department and will provide an opportunity to grow, develop, learn and lead. This leader will work in collaboration with the Associate Head - Academics, Director of IT, Division Principals & Curriculum Coordinators to support JK-12 Academic Excellence and ensure the long-term sustainability of the school. The position plays an important role in the execution of the York School interim strategic plan as well as delivering its upon the York School mission, vision and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Academic Excellence: (Junior School - PYP Primary Years Programme)

Lead the day-to-day support and management of the Junior School academic technology and operational systems in collaboration with L.I.T Team members.

Collaborate with the Junior School Principal, Director of Academic Operations, Curriculum Coordinator, Citizenship Team and teaching staff to ensure meaningful integration across the PYP Programme of Inquiry (POI) and co-curricular programme.

Support the Junior School faculty and students through in-class teaching support, collaborative planning and leading project based learning experiences .

Collaborate with Junior School Leadership and Citizenship teams to support events, meetings and assemblies.

Collaborate with the Junior School Curriculum Coordinator and Library Technician to support the JK - 5 research and 21st century skill development.

Collaborate with the Director of IT to establish yearly Learning, Innovation and Technology goals that align directly with the York School strategic plan

Collaborate with the Director of IT on researching, testing and procuring appropriate technologies & tools to support the JK-12 Academic programme and curriculum.

Collaborate with the Director of IT and Middle/Senior School Technology Coordinator to steward the JK-12 Design & Technology curriculum.

Collaborate with and support the JK-12 faculty by helping lead professional development to ensure meaningful integration of technology across the curriculum.
Ensure our Long Term Sustainability
In addition to supporting the K-12 academic programme this position also assumes responsibility for the yearly management and rollover of all academic technology & operational systems.
IT Management & Operations

Lead and collaborate with the L.I.T Team in the management of the York School I.T. services & systems to ensure that all infrastructure, hardware and software meet the daily needs of all community members and support the long term strategic plan.

This role will sit as part of the Junior School Core Academic Team and is an important part of the school leadership structure.

Assist and lead Administrative staff professional development
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
-
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors of Education - Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) and experience teaching, learning and leading with technology.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience.

Experience in and knowledge of IB PYP is a strong asset

Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and team building skills

Experience with Design Thinking, Project Based Learning, Inquiry and Universal Design for Learning

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to lead and work collaboratively

Proven experience in leading planning, project management and development of existing and emerging academic and operational technology systems across teams

Excellent ability to deal effectively with people at all levels and constituencies within a school community

Knowledgeable in the Google Workplace for Education (GSuite), IT infrastructure, administrative operations, emerging and academic technology services and system.

Proven understanding of effective use of technology (digital curriculum, web tools, hardware, etc.) in classroom environments

Ability to train faculty and administration on software and hardware
