Technology Integrationist & Design Coordinator

We are looking for a well-qualified and experienced teacher for the permanent full-time position of Technology Integrationist & Design Coordinator for the Junior School (K-6) to start in August 2018.

The Junior School Technology and Design coordinator plays an important leadership role in the school community. It is a key role that supports and enhances learning for students in Grades PK to 6. The coordinator will be responsible for supporting and guiding technology and design learning in the Junior School. The Technology and Design coordinator will report to the Junior School Principal and work with the Vice Principals, the Director of Learning Technology, and the Math coordinator to ensure consistency and alignment with the school’s strategic plan. While the coordinator will be focused on integrating technology and design in the IB PYP, a key part of the role will be to collaborate with the MYP Design coordinator to ensure vertical and horizontal continuity and progression. The role will also include spearheading, designing and leading the Junior School Makerspace. Although this is a non-class based role, the Technology and Design coordinator will spend time planning, coaching, and co-teaching to ensure that technology is seamlessly integrated into the curriculum.

Ideally candidates will have the following experience and skills:

• Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Educational Technology
• All of the requirements and certifications to teach in BC
• Hold an age appropriate First Aid Certificate
• Experience teaching in a technology rich environment
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff members, students, parents, and outside community agencies and partners
• Demonstrated excellence in working with teachers to integrate technology in the classroom across the full range of PYP/MYP disciplines and grades
• Technical savvy with a broad range of hardware and services used in technology rich environments (multiple device platforms, G-Suite, LMS etc.)
