Technology Integrator
The Speyer Legacy seeks a K-8 Technology Integrator. This is a full-time position starting July 1, 2016. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Technology Integrator works closely with the Middle School Technology Coordinator, the Middle and Lower School Division Heads, as well as with administrators, teachers, and students.
The Technology Integrator encourages and supports Lower and Middle School faculty in their educational use of technology. The Technology Integrator also provides academic and administrative Level 1 tech support with primary responsibilities maintaining Classroom Multimedia installations and student devices. Therefore, we seek a candidate with flexibility, broad experience, a positive attitude, and a burning desire to help people use technology well.
Responsibilities

Develop our fledgling K-4 academic technology initiative, including building a scope and sequence for our K-4 Creative and Computational Thinking curriculum, in collaboration with our MS Technology Coordinator and the Director of Technology.

Promote technology use in Lower School and Middle School classrooms, but only when it supports excellent teaching and learning.

Plan technology-focused workshops and ongoing professional development sessions throughout the school year both in one-on-one and group sessions for faculty and administrators.

Test, troubleshoot, and support hardware including SMART Boards, Classroom projectors, Mac laptops and iPads.

Be the primary contact for multimedia classroom device repairs with the support of the Director of Technology.

Be the primary contact for maintaining student iPads and Laptops with the support of the Director of Technology.

Test, troubleshoot, and support institutional software and systems

Collaborate closely and effectively with administrators, teachers, and students
- Support the needs of the Technology Department and the School administration as is appropriate and necessary.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
-
Self-motivation and ability to work independently or collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and parents
-
Demonstrated Experience supporting teachers, students, and administrators in their use of technology, as well as troubleshooting and supporting technology infrastructure in an academic environment

Demonstrated experience building and conducting training for faculty and administration
-
Demonstrated experience teaching K-8 students
-
Comfort teaching students in a classroom environment both as support and as the primary teacher

Exceptional collaborative skills and an approachable, patient temperament
-
Excellent organizational, and project management skills, including ability to work on multiple projects and follow through to completion

Excellent communication skills including the ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports, as well as clear documentation.

Desire to learn and to stay abreast of emerging technologies
