St. Thomas’s Day School is seeking a full-time Technology Integration Specialist starting immediately on 3/25/19 and ending 6/12/19. There will be an opportunity to apply for the 2019-2020 school year.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Administrative Team, the Technology Integration Specialist promotes the use of technologies to support student achievement in the K-6 classroom. He/she also assists in the development and implementation of technology integration projects to deepen the learning experience of the students. The Technology Integration Specialist provides leadership, staff development, and instructional support to all instructional and administrative staff. The Technology Integration Specialist collaborates with appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage, optimize the use of instructional software, and network resources to support quality teaching and learning. This skilled professional works independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Has experience working with elementary school students. 

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the process and strategies used in implementing instructional technology plans.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of new computer, video, communication, web-based technologies, curriculum design, and working knowledge of instructional design and assessments. 

  • Demonstrates the ability to listen to others and remain receptive to new ideas.

  • Demonstrates sustained effort and enthusiasm in the quality and quantity of work.

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively educate/mentor technology users.

  • Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community. 

Performance Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in the use of media, equipment, and technology to deepen student learning.

  • Assist in the implementation of initiatives that serve to integrate technology into the instructional program.

  • Uses knowledge about current ideas, trends, methods, programs, materials, and equipment for technology integration to ensure optimum instructional delivery.

  • Works with administration and other staff members to implement objectives for technology integration.

  • Models effective instruction incorporating technology integration.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred

  • Experience teaching students preferred
