UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central IT organization for the University of Washington (UW), responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of UW’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW medical centers, and research operations around the world.
UW-IT’s Information Management (IM) division provides University-wide leadership in the development and management of UW’s major administrative business systems including Finance, Human Resources/Payroll (HR/P), Advancement, and Facilities. IM also provides leadership and support to all UW academic and administrative units in delivering institutional data for decision making.
The Enterprise Document Management program (EDM) within UW-IT provides technical solutions and services to academic, business, and IT groups throughout the University. These solutions include Document Management, eSignatures, and Notifications. These services support the University’s business process modernization and automation efforts, and aid departments in complying with records retention policies.
EDM within UW-IT has an outstanding full time opportunity for a Technology Project Manager.
The EDM Technology Project Manager role will coordinate software development and customer engagement projects. In collaboration with the Technology Manager, Senior Engagement Manager, and other members of the EDM team, the Project Manager is responsible for project planning, prioritization of tasks, tracking overall project status, reporting on key deliverables, and communication to internal and external project stakeholders. The TechnologyProject Manager must communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives, and is apt at managing expectations.
In addition, the Technology Project Manager is responsible for working closely with product owners, software engineers, quality assurance, and operations teams in the role of Agile Scrum Master, facilitating the team's work.
This position will be involved in customer engagement and operational activities, and will act as the ITIL Service Manager for EDM services.
REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in business administration, communications, information science, or related field.

Minimum of four years of experience managing progressively more complex IT projects in software development applications and comprehensive understanding of the underlying technologies.

Demonstrated advanced project management soft and hard skills.

Experience in project and software development lifecycles and corresponding tools such as issue tracking systems, configuration management systems, requirements management systems and project management systems.

Demonstrated ability to manage large technical projects within a team environment.

Ability to manage a diverse range of activities in a very visible and pressured environment, exercising independent judgment in resolving problems.

Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills and personal interaction abilities.

Ability to speak and write about technical and non-technical issues for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience communicating with senior management through all project processes, during priority setting, and providing project status.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

An effective team player who enjoys collaboration and can influence without authority.

Ability to work independently, and with minimal supervision.

Ability to critically think to solve difficult problems with complex solutions and widespread impact.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Experience in Higher Education, preferably at a major research university.

Knowledge of IT accessibility issues for users with disabilities; familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices; experience testing for accessibility; and demonstrated ability to design content/applications with accessibility considerations.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work in open office environment.
